"How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people -- first of all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness is wholly dependent, and then for the many, unknown to us, to whose destinies we are bound by the ties of sympathy. A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving...Al Einstein

Thankfully, there are a number of herbs and natural remedies that can help ease this unpleasant symptom. One in five women who suffer period pain (also known as dysmenorrhoea, menstrual cramps or menstrual pain) say the pain is severe enough to interfere with their ability to function normally one to three days every month. Thats why menstrual cramps are the leading cause of absenteeism in women under the age of 30...read the full article

Body Treats, great enviromentally friendly products
I just have to rave about these new products I have added on my for your health web site, The name of the range is Body Treats and they are all Australian owned and made. I wanted to buy the whole range as soon as I saw them. The products come in 5 fragrances, Hot Grapefruit, Spicy Pear, Very Berry, Sticky Mango and Ice Lime. They all sound good enough to eat, let alone use. As I love candles these are the ones I purchased first. They look great and they smell even better. You can buy them in 3 sizes, baby size $4.00 ea. medium size $7.50 ea. and king size $13.50 ea. These candles are made from pure palm butter. All natural and non toxic. They provide a clean burn - no smoke and no pollution. 100% pure, natural palm wax with cotton wicks and they contain only essential oils and fine fragrances.

Buying Mickey a Pet Bed
We all agreed that Mickey needs his own bed, but thats when the problems started. What size bed, does Mickey sprawl or does he curl up to sleep. What price range can we afford. Will the bed last the distance. What colour, what fabric, what design, what's next? It seemed to be too many choices. But then again we spend a lot of time choosing our own beds. So the search began. After checking out numerous pet stores around town. We then hit the internet, and wow we had fun, tiring fun but fun nether the less. The choices out there are amazing. In the end we decided to support our own website and we bought Mickey the Snooza Pet Cushion for inside and the Snooza Durobed for outdoors. Yes we got both beds cheaper, but what really helped us decide was the quality and durability of the Snooza products, and to top it all off, great colours and designs across the whole range. The Durobed is made from UV treated shade cloth style fabric, which never fades, is mould resistant and to clean, you just hose it down. How great is that. As for the Snooza Pet Cushion you can buy replaceable covers and extra filling for when it goes flat. The only problem is our cat Ayla loves the pet cushion as much as Mickey does. So its the first one to the bed, is the first one to commandeer it.

The Dangers of Clumping Cat Litter
Sodium bentonite
Is often added as a clumping agent to traditional cat litters to create the “scoopable” clay litters on the market. Sodium bentonite acts like an expandable cement, used as a grouting, sealing, and plugging material-it can swell up to 15 to18 times their dry size and clog up your cat's insides. which is why these litters should not be flushed. Cats often lick themselves after using the litter box, ingesting pieces of the litter. If litter gets inside them, it expands just as it does in the plumbing. Also, the dust from such litters can coat our cats’ lungs, leading to respiratory problems. There has been reported instances of poisoning in humans from chronic ingestion of sodium bentonite, so just imagine what effect it can have on our kitties!
Quartz silica (sand)
The other ingredient in most clumping litters, is a known carcinogen for both humans and household pets when inhaled. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, silicon particles which can be found in clay litter are a known human carcinogen. Breathing in these particles can cause respiratory illness. When your cat goes to cover her waste, this dust is kicked up and introduced into the room. Distributed on the floor and anywhere else it chooses to settle, the dust then becomes an invasive intruder, causing problems for humans and animals alike.
Flushable litters
Flushable litters, however, remain controversial because cat poo can contain Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that enters felines after they've eaten infected rodents, birds, or other small animals... more...So what's a kitty owner to do? Try one of these tried and tested Australian Cat Litter Products. All enviromentaly friendy.

A new addition to our Family
 Meet Mickey
Meet MickeyA Tibetan Spaniel Cross, not sure what he is crossed with. He is a pound rescue puppy. About 1 year old. Mickey has settled in very well. Loves annoying our cat Ayla, although I think he really just wants to play with her. She looks at him as though he is scum and not worthy of her time. They seem to have settled into a pattern of sharing the snooza cushion. But Ayla is definatly the boss. If shes on the bed Mickey takes a wide path around it.
We gave Mickey a welcome puppy party, with his new puppy friends, I made a Peanut Butter Carrot Cake for him. It was a great success, enjoyed by all his pals. I also tried the Apple Cinnamon Drops. Very easy to make and Mickey loves them as a treat.

Rules for Cats who have to run a House
The following is a manual of guidelines for the busy cat(s) who will have a house to manage after adopting one or more humans. It is, of course, impossible to cover all possible situations, as those humans are always up to some sort of mischief, but the compiler and contributors to this guide have endeavoured to cover as wide a variety of topics as possible. It is important that this document be kept out of the hands of humans, who will undoubtedly find a way to use it to their advantage. Read full Article...
