What is Happiness?
Happiness does not depend on having more things, getting your own way or doing what you think it should. Happiness comes from knowing that while we cant make an unhappy person happy, we are constantly and inevitably affecting other peoples wellbeing. All our encounters with others lift their spirits or lower them. Taking this power seriously is a crucial way of growing into our highest potential. We need to shift our thinking from 'What will make me happy?' to 'How can I most positively affect the world around me?'. Being a source of happiness, support, interest, comfort and wellbeing for others will transform our own lives.

'A Breath Test for Breast Cancer'

Its been nearly eight years since my mum passed away from breast cancer and it still seems like yesterday. Such a big part of me died when she did. My mum was such a strong woman, she didnt share with my brother and myself that she had breast cancer until the last six weeks of her life, she never believed in doctors and their medicines, only in natural alternative medicines. But cancer is such a horrible invasion on the body, so aggresive and shows no mercy, in the end it took her life. I nursed her at home for those last six weeks, so hard but such a privilege, both of us would not have had it any other way. Gone but never ever forgotten. Love You Mum!
Great news. New technology has created a device that is said to detect breast cancer before even a mammogram can catch it. The good news is that this device doesn’t involve the painful and often uncomfortable experience that mammograms provide. In fact, it doesn’t involve examining your breasts at all.
The only thing needed is your breath.
That’s right, the innovative device used to detect early cases of breast cancer is a special breathalyzer. Similar to the way police use breathalyzer’s to figure out how much alcohol a person has consumed, the breast cancer breathalyzer is able to detect early stage breast cancer before it spreads. Medical studies have found that the body actually produces certain types of chemicals into a person’s breath and certain patterns set off early signs of breast cancer. The breathalyzer is then able to pick up on those patterns, allowing doctors to make an early diagnosis. Read the full article here...

21 days to a brand-new you!

It’s a brand new year. A new beginning.
What do I have to do to achieve the changes that I want in my life. I have always been a whatever happens, take it as it comes kind of girl. This year its time to take a new direction, new actions and new thoughts. When what you’re doing isn’t working, it’s time to change what you’re doing. I’m making some changes.
Did you know, statistics prove that it takes approximately 21 days to make or break a habit. Twenty-one days of doing or NOT doing something before it truly has an impact on your life. So, I ask…who will you be in 21 days? Not where will you be or what will you be doing… but WHO will you be? You can’t make drastic changes without it changing who you are.
First thing I’ll be doing for 21 days is listening to God more, that still quiet voice inside. Taking the time to thank him for all my blessings. Im sure God does'nt answer every prayer I place before him. He hears and listens, weighs it all up, but in the end he knows what is best for me. He honors bold prayers of blessings and blesses us according to His will. He has many blessings He’s waiting to give..and He’s waiting for us to ask boldly. So, for at least 21 days (and the rest of 2009), I will be boldly going before the throne of God and asking for His blessings on ME. Asking Him to stretch my territory for His glory.
Join me, will you?
Next im planning on shedding that extra weight that hangs on like a leach and wont budge. So for the next 21 days whether I feel like it or not, none of my usual excuses like no time, too tired, or just plain lazy, are not going to work anymore. We received a Wii fit board for xmas. I have my own personal trainer on there, and he's going to keep me on track. With that and my own determination I am going to succeed. You will notice I am keeping any negative thoughts out of here. That way im sure I will succeed.
Last, but not least, I’m going to spend 21 days living as if it were my last. You never know when it actually could be. Im making the most of every day that I possibly can. I will be telling my family I love and appreciate them much more often than I have in the past. I will be more kinder and accepting of myself and others.
Now the goal of course is to have these 21 days turn into 365, and then 365 more and so on. New Year, New habits.

Happy New Year and many blessings in 2009! Ask BOLDLY, expect blessings, and give thanks for each and every moment.
